Here's how to set up Mozilla Thunderbird 1.5 for use with your Powernet email account.

When you start up Thunderbird for the first time, the first-time setup helper starts. Select "Email account", and click Next:

Next, type in your name and your Powernet email address. If you plan on using multiple email addresses, type in the one you mostly want to use as your "From" address:

On the next screen, enter the server names as shown:

Then, enter your Powernet username in both the "incoming" and "outgoing" user name fields:

Enter a description for the account, e.g. "Powernet":

Once the inital setup helper is complete, go to the "Tools" menu and choose "Account Settings":

Then click on "Outgoing Server (SMTP)", on the left:

Click "Edit" to edit the outgoing server settings. Now make sure the "Use name and password" box is ticked, and that the user name field contains your Powernet username. Finally, choose the "TLS" connection type:

Click "OK" to close the outgoing server settings window.

Now click on "Server Settings", top left, to show the incoming server settings window:

Choose the "SSL" secure connection, and make sure the port number is set to 995:

Finally, click OK to close the account settings window.

Your Powernet email is now set up.
