Here's how to set up Outlook Express 6 for use with your Powernet email account.
If you don't use Outlook Express 6, try this page instead
When you start up Outlook Express for the first time, the first-time setup wizard starts.
First, type in your name:
Next, type in your Powernet email address. If you plan on using multiple email addresses, type in the one you mostly want to use as your "From" address:
Next, type in the names of the incoming and outgoing email servers, exactly as you see them here:
On the next screen, type in your Powernet username and password. Tick "Remember password" if you wish.
On the final screen, click "Finish" to complete the setup wizard.
Now you need to go and adjust some of the settings for your account. To do this, go to the "Tools" menu and choose "Accounts". When the accounts window appears, click the "mail" tab:
Make sure the "pop3.powernet.co.uk" account is highlighted, then click "properties". This opens the properties window for your Powernet mail account.
Now click on the "Servers" tab of the properties window, and tick the "My server requires authentication" box:
Next, click on the "Advanced" tab, and tick the two boxes labelled "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" (do this both for the outgoing mail server, and the incoming mail server):
Now click "OK" to close the properties window, then click "Close" to close the accounts window.
That's it, your Powernet email is now set up.
