Click OK to add an entry and the following window will appear.

At the phone book entry window enter a name for your connection. You can call it anything you like but we suggest Power Internet. Now click Next and the Server window will be displayed:

In this window click the two top tick boxes. This is very important as it determines how your details will be sent on to Powernet when you try to connect. Now click Next to continue.

Enter the following phone number, 0845 0798096, which will connect you to Powernet. Click Next to continue to the next window. If you wish to connect to Powernet from outside the UK, you will need to use the alternate number of +44 207 7881286.

Click Finish to conclude the set up. After you have clicked Finish, a window similar to the one below will be displayed.

To continue the set up, click the More button and a menu list of options will appear. Select the option Edit entry and modem properties as shown below:

The Edit Phonebook Entry window will appear; click the Server tab as shown below.

In the Network protocols section, click TCP/IP Settings button and the following window will be displayed.

When this window opens, there may be only a single DNS server address shown.

If you are connecting via a modem: Click the radio button Server assigned IP address. Click the radio button Specify name server addresses and enter our DNS server numbers

Primary DNS is 195.60.0.1 Secondary DNS is 195.60.0.5 If you are connecting via ISDN: Click the radio button Server assigned IP address. Click the radio button Specify name server addresses.

Click OK until you return to the window where it says Dial at the bottom of the window. When you are back to this window, click Dial, to open the Connect to Powernet window.

In the Username field enter your nodename. Type your password into the password field remember that it is case sensitive. Please ensure that the Domain box is left empty if something is entered in this field the connection attempt may fail. If you wish, you can put a tick in the Save Password box so you don't have to type it in every time.

Click OK to make the modem or ISDN dial and connect to Power Internet.
