The following sequences of events gives you a step by step guide to creating a new dial-up connection, using Windows XP operating system, which will allow you to log on to the Internet or collect your e-mail.

At the Windows Desktop screen, double-click the My Computer icon and the My Computer sub-screen will be displayed.

At this screen, double-click the Control Panel icon and the Control Panel sub-screen will appear.

At the Control Panel sub-screen, double-click the Network Connections as shown.

Next click Create a new connection located in the left hand menu.

Follow the wizard by clicking Next.

Select Connect to the Internet and click Next.

Select Set up my connection manually and click Next.

Select Connect using a dial-up modem and click Next.

Enter Power Internet as the name of your ISP and click Next.

Enter the Powernet dial up number as 08450798096. Connections made from outside the UK can use +442077881286.

Set whether it is for your use only, or whether it is for use by all users of this computer and click Next.

Complete your account details, as decided when you signed up for the account and click Next.

Select Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop and then click Finish.

To add DNS server addresses, right click on the new dial-up icon and select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).

Enter Powernet's DNS server addresses.

Click on OK. Your connection is now configured.
